Greetings and salutations to all my B-body brothers and sisters. Just bought my first survivor car, and it is a strange combination of options I have not come accross in my Mopar travels. 1973 Charger Rallye, life long Carolina car, very little rust. Sat since 1994, one owner. Came with all documentation, build sheet, fender tags, title, owners manuals ect. Red car with black side stripes and hood bulge, black vinyl top. 340 auto on column, bench seat (black with black and white plaid inserts) red tuff wheel, hood pins, machine gun exhaust tips, rallye dash, strange large remote trans fluid cooler mounted between rad support and grille area. Radiator has no provisions for trans fluid. Everything is absolutely untouched and unrestored. Is this run of the mill, or does it warrant a correct restoration? I will decode the paperwork this weekend to see what I missed. Looking forward to interacting with y'all.

Welcome from NW CT. Sounds like a great find. Cars are only original once - just sayin...

survivor...is a muddy term these days....Detailed pics will confirm the accuracy....

I think those Rallye Chargers are awesome. It "sounds" like you've got a manual transmission radiator and an aftermarket trans cooler.....but you say it looks original.....hmmmm. That car is certainly not "run of the mill" in my opinion.

Wow
Congratulations and good luck with your great find!
Welcome aboard and thanks for joining the forum!

As promised, here are a few pictures of my first survivior. I decoded the mystery of the strange trans cooler. It was "borrowed" from one of the Military bases in the area. It is an aircraft oil cooler stamped "U. S. Property". BTW, I sent an email to Graveyard Motorz, the new dealership Worman is supposedly starting, and they asked if I would sell them the car. I think it's a keeper.
No tag on rear, but it is not sure-grip (crap), no rust around the windshield or rear window (bueno), floors very solid. Original owner says Tuff wheel was red, but it was destroyed by the N.C. sun (like the rest of the interior) the black one is a replacement. Don't know for sure. Last registered in '85. Have all original paperwork, and the original keys which are almost worn smooth. 101,953 on the odometer.
