Broken side view mirror

I noticed the side mirror on my 73 RR was wobbly and I took it off. It is a painted passenger side view mirror.

I noticed that the base had cracks around the mounting holes.

My question, are these made of POT metal and can they be welded?

I really don't want to spend 400.00 on a pair of new sideview mirrors.

The same you can weld aluminium, same applies to pot metal

For $5 I'd try the JB Weld. You really have nothing to lose.

there is no glue able to hold that load on that point due the stress. Just welding is the real solution... or replacing, which in this case for the price was the best
