Ca resident own/register/insure car in Pa?

Sorry for your troubles Dennis.
I have gone through this with my father moving to Florida, and wanting to keep his truck in Pa.
Here's the skinny:
You must be a resident of the state to register and insure the vehicle there.
Since the Mrs owns property, she can declare residency, turn in her Ca driver's license, and get a Pa license.
As a side note;
All was right with the world with my father coming back to Pa, until a little fender bender..... said insurance company questioned why an 87 yr old Fla resident was using "my" truck all summer. When questioned (Dad always tells the truth),my rates doubled. Truck sold shortly after.

I went thru this a few years ago in Minnesota. To solve the problem I “sold” the car to my brother who was a resident and got insurance in his name. No problems.
