70 charger with very manly manual steering. Recent purchase with no knowledge of what lube was previously used.
I can’t see any grease in it and need to add. Going to use JD cornhead grease. Can lubricants be mixed? I assumed not ideal at the least.
Is there any way to remove/drain the gearbox?
Thanks.

If it has any original type of lube in it there's no way to effectively drain it without dissassembly. Even then it's a messy chore. If you can't see any in it that raises the question of "where did it go?" Just top it up with the cornhead grease and use it. If anything it will dilute whatever **** is in there and make it easier to clean if you decide to do so in the future.

I'm going to go on a limb and state that the car will steer WAY easier with CH grease in it !!

Thanks! I really hoped disassembly wasn’t the only way. May convert to ps anyway but so far manual hasn’t been too bad.
