Can my door be saved

My driver door is in great shape other than the metal around the latch is busted. And latch has fell down down in door. Can I straighten it out and weld it. And remount latch.

Yes. I've seen this most on A bodies.The latch breaks out on the Quarter side.If you are not sure of doing it yourself, a good body shop should.
