According to Argus Hamilton, "The New York Post reported that a Canadian man last week filled up a hundred balloons with helium, then tied the balloons to his lawn chair, strapped himself in with a belt, and flew over Calgary. Upon landing, he was arrested. He has been charged with stealing Canadian military secrets."

He was not the first to claim this fame. Larry Walters did it in '82 over San Pedro California. I once talked to the air traffic controller who took the call from a passing aircraft. It was an interesting conversation to say the least.
