Everywhere I look is back ordered. Anyone else having problems finding a 272/272 duration .455 lift mopar performance cam or have any suggestions where to look? I have tried Summit and Jegs as well as Ebay.

I have the car torn apart but hoping to have it back together before spring!

Thanks!

Mancini Racing maybe ?

Summit says it will ship in 2 weeks, that’s not bad. This is for a big block right? They have the small block cam in stock. I’ve ordered from summit before when shitnis backordered and they give them self plenty of time with their estimated dates, longest I’ve waited is 2 weeks. Also try giving Chicago connection a call you’d me amazed the parts this guy has in stock.

If you are looking for alternative, I am using Crane 272 cam in my 340. I like it.

PN 683941

Lift is 454/480 and duration is 272/284

the mopar cams are priced stupid. there are some alternatives. the valve springs and cylinder heads will dictate the alternative.

Sorry I should have clarified. This is for a 400 big block. Cam part number P4286677AE. I ordered it from Summit before Christmas and it was back ordered and was supposed to ship on January 11th but now they are saying January 29th. I was just looking for other options since it was delayed once I figure it could easily happen again. I can cancel at anytime as long as it is before it is shipped.

I will check Chicago Connection and Mancini since Jegs says "no ETA".

I am not married to the cam choice, I have just heard good things about the purple shaft 272 .455. The current engine is a stock 400 with a 4 barrel. Stock heads, hi performance factory exhaust manifolds, 727 auto (factory torque converter) with an 8 3/4 3.55 Suregrip rear.

.284/.484 is a good sounding cam, should work well with your stock set up. I ran it in my coronet with a 440, here’s a link of it running

if your running a near stock 8:1 compression 400 i'd recommend a comp cams magnum replacement #21-305-4, or a howards cl720031-2. another alternative would be the summit 6401. factory valve springs won't tolerate much lift so i'd recommend changing them to what's compatable with the new cam.
