Its a nightmare dealing with some of these auto shippers. Anyone have any recommendations? Also stay far far away from sweet spot transport

One user five stars, next zero. Reviews all over the place. Good luck. I used D A S for a new Challenger east to west coast enclosed transport with no problem. That was in 2009.

I have sold several cars on ebay that were shipped East. Almost every one of them seems to fly by the seat of their pants, giving less than a days warning that they are coming to get the car. THis pisses me off....Who just sits around with nothing to do but wait for someone to show up?

I have used Reliable twice, excellent communications and results......on the costly side but it depends what kind of car you are shipping of course. Also, they do not particularly want to deal with single car orders as they prefer multiple car shipments, however, when things are slow they are very happy to take your load.
Another I have used is Tropical Auto Transport out of Orlando, also excellent results.
Problem is most of the "auto transport co's" you see advertised are brokers, not trucking co's, but hey are not all bad. There is a "load board" onto which they all post their loads and a price offer, truckers/ co's pic the best paying ones out of what's posted.
You can post on U-ship, Montway is the one that is always responding, they have their own trucks and fair pricing, I have not used them but have not heard anything bad of them.
I have used a guy out of Miami several times, he is a very good broker (also happens to be my friend's uncle) so he is straight up dude. Has never let me down out of 3 cars I' ve shipped through him let me know if you want his number.

I would stay away from any broker, I've used Uship, and they damaged the front of my low rider truck when loading it, I stressed and describe to them before they went to load it and they said they would handle it. So that guy couldn't load it. Brought the wrong type of truck and took another week to get the right truck there. Other people I know have had bad experiences with any broker. Google you will find a lot of negative results. The broker get a percentage of the fee. Your contract is with the broker and not the trucking company, your contract with the broker says they are not responsible any damages and you need to go after the trucking company, which they will decide whether you have a clam or not. Pain in the Ars, never got a dime. I would had to file a clam in Florida. They are usually the lowest priced, pay the extra with company that you deal directly with the owner or rep. My .02

I've used both Horseless Carriage & Intercity with very good results.

Had Intercity ship my Cordoba from Illinois to Jersey with no issues and they were nearly $500 cheaper than Reliable. Very thorough on inspection and husband/wife team driving were very good with timetable updates and pleasant to deal with. Remember, after the trucker gets your order you will be dealing with him on the scedule, not the corporate office.

I used Intercity as well - not the cheapest but a good price and they own their own trucks. No brokers involved. Everything went off without a hitch. Would use them again.

I've shipped two cars now.

The first used Intercity, they are not brokers which is the best way to go. They were awesome. However, there is one draw back to them and others that are not brokers. You have to be patient for pick up. That's because it's hard for them to get their truck to certain areas quickly. Once they have it, they will deliver it timely. So if you can wait a little more for pick up, I'd only use a non-broker.

My second one just recently was a Coronet shipped from Hawaii to Mass. Talk about complicated! I ended up using United Routes. They are a broker, and they took care of the over water shipping as well. That was important for me because I had no idea what to do. My concern was that the car would sit on the mainland dock waiting to be picked up for who know how long. It's too rare a car to just sit around. So I felt a broker would get there quicker. It did take them a couple of days to get to the pick up, but that wasn't too bad.

Now for the bad part, the driver had to unload a new Mustang GT something or other Shellby fo get my car out. He beat the piss out of it and deliberately did a smoke show right in front of the ramps, with a kid filming no less. I was inside my building, otherwise I would have stopped him, because that really pissed me off. I let them know and they did ask for the video. But that is just wrong.

You do get what you pay for.
