I purchased a rotisserie.... And now Im second guessing my plan.

The front floor is out but almost ready to be finally welded in, which is the point where I was going to put it on the rotisserie for final welding of the frame connectors, torque box stiffeners, and the firewall brace from US Cartool in prep for coil overs.

My quarters are mostly cut out and the trunk pan needs replacement too.

So my question is, at what point can I mount the charger? Do I have to wait until the front floor, trunk pan, and quarters are fully installed? Or sooner?

Regretting buying this expensive rotisserie now :(

Thanks in advance!

In my opinion, you need to set the unibody down on four jack stands that are all at the same plane. Then you can weld the floor in and the froame connectors.
You have too much of the car cut apart to weld anything together on the rotisserie! If you have the car on four stands, you will notice that in this state you can
lift up on the rear trunk panel and it will move up-and-down easily. That's not good! You have to use a factory frame drawing to set the heights before you weld
anything on so when you're done everything fits. You still need the rotisserie, but not until later. I use a laser level in the corner of the shop to set all four stands
so they are within 1/8" of each other in the exact place they will be on the frame.

Here is a pic of the points where I like to place the stands:

If you brace the car and make a skeleton you can get away with the rotisserie. That should have been done before anything was cut out. If the car is in the position now that it was when cut out you need to run with that. I wouldn't mount it now unless it was braced.

You'll really appreciate the rotisserie later. As zyzzyx says you need to level it and get some structure in it before you hang the body from the ends.

Alrighty.... Thanks everyone.... The rotisserie is now being sold for pretty much what I have into it, because I have much better things to do with that money for the time being than letting it sit, if it doesnt sell then of course I will use it on down the road.

Although I'm now curious, is the rotisserie mostly for painting purposes? and maybe the odd frame connector of stiffener? I apparently thought it was more useful in terms of welding. I think I saw someone do an outer rocker on it once.

Thanks for the measurements and tips... Its currently level and square thankfully, I have 4 jacks with screw type mounts on them and took all the measurements, once with a plumb bomb and another with my tram gauge... So she should be good at least while putting panels on with it on the jacks.

Again, thanks for everyone's time and help!.... Looks like more time welding on my back for me haha!

I would keep that rotisserie that thing will save you countless hours, head neck back arm aches etc. and is multiplied by how old your are. i used mine till I got it on wheels. then sold it what i paid for it. best tool I bought for saving time the best thing was touching up the welds welding down instead of up, after i got all panels aligned welded from the top on jack stands, then spun in over and completed the weld on the underneath of car upside down

Okay, Don, you convinced me... Im keeping it... but now Ive got to take it apart and store it... damn thing takes up more space than my Ford!

And thank you very much, Im gonna need it!

Ya that's why I was happy to get rid of mine.

I borrowed the one I'm using. The owner is happy it's out of his way and I'm happy to use it. It's a win/win!

yeah, when I get done with mine I don't know where I'm gonna park it! Get to that part later.

hey morrow_jacob, I am in weatherford. maybe I could rent it from you for a while? I am going to need one soon.
