I just found this 1970 Dodge Charger BB 4-speed up for sale yesterday. Looks to have just arrived in New Zealand, and is up for sale right now. I'm not interested in it myself, but curious if anyone knows about it.

The blurb; (apologies to @Kern Dog ....I didn't write this stuff):p
Here we have the one year only 1970 Dodge Charger 500 , 383 BB , Pistol Grip 4 Speed Manual . A big block manual charger is not something you will see often , superbee's and roadrunners are much more common in manual but here folks we do have a factory BB manual charger.
This is a very solid Charger with rust in the usual mopar places , except the frame structure.Torque Boxes good , needs lower quarters , full trunk pan and some smaller floor patch panels, also has rust around bottom of rear glass .
This Charger came from the factory in that oh so popular winning colour B5 Blue with a Black vinyl Top.All glass good , needs interior Kit,This is a super rare 4 speed pistol grip console car you can tell that by the hurst shifter that is not straight, there is part of the console that comes with the car but you can buy them after market now finally. The car has new tires on nice wheels , original wheels long gone but easily obtainable upon restoration.
Engine I believe is original to the car, previous owner said it was factory. Partial vin on block matches except for one number.The 2 stamped on the block is supposed to be a five.I've been informed this was likely to be a mistake as it would be unusual for all the other numbers to match , but make your own mind up there , it never really bothered me . Casting date on block is 12-9-69 which makes sence as car was built first month of 1970.
One of the last previous owner's in the US was a engine builder by trade and so the story goes he rebuilt the engine a few years ago then the car got parked with only 500 or so miles on the engine.He put a good sized cam in it that sounds pretty dame mean, at that time it was also given a new clutch , pressure plate pilot bushing and throw out bearing.The car runs and drives well , needs some exhaust work or baffling , but is turn key , starts and stops .
This Charger has never had a major crash. A Bit of parking lot scrapes and dings but it still sports it's factory vin stamped core support
Never repainted its a survivor

Interesting car, not much B5 org. paint left
she's a bit rough, I've seen far worse
maybe a middle-America car {?},
IMO doesn't appear to be a West coast or southwest car
{it could be if stored outside ??}
Don't know it or the previous owner/history

sounds like a decent "pretty honest" description
are the people selling it, flippers ? {kind of sounds like it}

what's the exchange rate US to NZ ?
the gen 2 Chargers 68-70 are really bringing good money
especially 68's
in all conditions, starting bids at $39,000
IMO that seems a bit high for condition,
no matter the exchange rate :poke:

I guess it's a lot harder to find them down there,
looks like someone bought it & shipped it to NZ to turn it over...

Thanks for your reply Budnicks...the current exchange rate puts that Charger at around US$27,000 - so it's probably priced fair IF the rust was not so bad. .....IMHO:)

Cars like this appear to be the apple of everyone's eye these days....so like they say, there's a bum for every seat.

Yeah $27,000 US IMO that isn't too out of this world
basket cases of 68's sell for near that, I've seen sometimes
I could see in that market they'd be higher priced too,
especially 4 speed mostly org. BB cars

yep :thumbsup:
there's an *** for every seat everywhere, common theme...

Damn....you're good at this detective work.....thanks. :thumbsup:
That is definitely the car in question....just wonder how much the buyer snagged it for.:D
