That sucks. He was a great vocalist and outlasted many of his fellow 90s era musicians. Soundgarden was the 1st of the Seattle grunge bands to get commercial success. He was one of my favorites.

He looked a LOT younger than 52.

Was currently on tour, and just had a huge hit with "Heavy is the Head...".

Agree on a great vocalist, and not afraid to abuse his voice when necessary.

Temple of the Dog- Hunger Strike clearly shows his chops and he literally "outshines" Eddie Vetter despite having a much less prominent part in the song.

Say Hello to Heaven is a much better song on the same album. Temple of the Dog was a tribute to Cornell's late friend and former handmade Andrew Wood who died in 1990. It was also Cornell who discovered Vetter and let him do a part on Hunger Strike.

My first year in college Chris C and his band played at our school. He had a one of a kind voice and was an original talent. Both Soundgarden and Audioslve where great bands in all respects!

RIP and condolences to his wife whom apparently had to find out via a phone call. When she initially called someone to go check on him, very sad!
