I am restoring my 1969 GTX and have a couple questions on the Console Performance Indicator.

Obviously the two wires are ground and power for the light bulb inside the Indicator. But is there a specific connection point that they tie into? Don't see this option on my wiring diagram, and cant find it in the assembly manual. Do they run up to the dash and connect, or is my console harness supposed to have the connection point?

Next question is routing. Is the slotted hole on the side of the console for the vacume line and wires to exit console and run up to dash? Im guessing the vacume line ties into the vacume source for the heater box controls?

Thanks in advance for any insight you may have.

I put one of those "Performance Indicators" in my '67 R/T many years ago. It dressed up the console, and was waaay cheaper than a $500 tach that likely doesn't work. Black wire is for ground, and the other wire gets tied into the instrument cluster light circuit. There might be a separate spade on the fuse box for this? I did this so long ago, I forget. You can tee your indicator vacuum line off the heater control vacuum line, before the controls. I prefer to get an intake manifold tap that has at least two small spigots, and run a separate vacuum line from here to your gauge. I ran the wires and hose forward out of the console, and cut a slit in the carpet for them before running them up under the dash. These Performance Indicators are rarely seen on B-bodies, and are more of a C-body thing.
