ive been working on my lighting in my car and cant seem to find out where the light for the shift pattern goes too. anybody have any experience with the light for the console. thanks

what year? what car? was it an automatic on the floor originally?

then you should have a wire harness under there...I think the wire for that light should be gray....grab a test light and pull the headlight switch on & off and see which wire in there goes on & off with dash lights....there should also be a black wire which is ground also

The wire is orange and it connects to the dash harness here;

thank you 72 roadrunner. i know i have seen that plug under my dash. there wiring harness should have a ground wire on it also right. i was wondering if you knew of a place where i could get the harness at. i am missing mine. thank you again

Pretty sure the light grounds through the socket/reflector/shift plate, IIRC, same sockets used for the rallye cluster dash illumination lights. I will double check that against the one I have stashed somewhere, sorry can’t spare it. I’ll get a picture and some dimensions if that will help, should be pretty easy to replicate.

aaahhh. i got it figured out now. went out to my car and i have the extension wire that plugs into the 3 way terminal that runs over to the right kick panel. but i dont have the wire that connects to that one. turn my lights on boom power. turn them off and no power thats the doggy. :headbang: now i just need to find me a connector that will plug into that one. i would just cut the old connector off and solder them together but i would rather just have a connector. thanks alot man.
