Would it be possible to swap a 71 Coronet grill and bumper onto a 73 Coronet? Maybe I don’t need the bumper just the grill?? The 71 front end looks so much better on these Coronets. Thanks

I put a 72 on a 73, I’m guessing it wouldn’t be an issue

Ok thanks. I would also like to get rid of the big bumper guards or whatever they are called

If you mean putting a Coronet bumper and grille on a 3rd gen Charger, been done.
I can't find the picture right now but I have seen it.

I had more of an orange 72 Charger in Vzla, nicelly done but with a Coronet bumper. But lost them somewhere.

Anyway he means Coronet 71 grill onto a Coronet 73

I think he just means coronet to coronet. Don't see why it wouldn't work, might need the earlier mounting brackets if you want to suck it in close to the body. Or slot/redrill what you have. If anything you have more room behind the bumper on a 73.

Yep, you're like me ... you keep everything. Don't know why I can't find those pic :BangHead:

Pretty sure will be just like Chargers, where everything will be doable keeping the frame brackets to the car year.

When talking about just grilles, well, I know 71/72 and 73/74 use diff grille brackets on Chargers. As far I know inner provisions will match but not outers or just one I think ( again, talking about Chargers ). Now, about Coronets, dunno. If you have the full bumper and grilles assembly from both years won't have any problem and will be able to build/match anything you want per needs playing with all parts. The easier will be always use the full bumper assembly, BUT 71 doesn't have the filler provisions. Sooooo, if you want to keep the fillers will need to keep the 73 Bumper. If not, you could use the 71 bumper and will need to enlarge the frame rail bracket holes to push in the bumper to the body and save the gap.

On 71/72 Chargers there is an extra bracket or safety reinforcement beam between Y brackets what I dunno if 71/72 Coronets will have it. 73/74 Chargers got this beam attached straight to the bumper, what made diff the grille brackets. I guess 73 Coronets could be similar
