Anyone know for sure the headlight spacing and such on a 68 Charger vs a 68 Coronet? Is the grill a direct bolt in fit?

You might find the Nick's Garage You Tube video on disassembling the 69 Charger 500 to be of interest.

Charger 500 cars used 68 Coronet headlight mounting brackets welded in n front of the original headlight mounting brackets on a standard 68/69 Charger grille frame assembly. They also had eight brackets that were used to bolt the 68 Coronet grille center section to the 68/69 Charger grille frame assembly. The headlight surrounds used spacers to attach them to the headlight mounting brackets to flush mount them evenly with the edges of the Charger fenders. There were grill surround pieces that finished off the area inside of the fenders so the inner area of the fenders could not be seen. Those had a rubber molding on the forward edge of each piece.
