I wonder what the story is here. This car hammered at $45K yesterday which is $49,500 with the buyers premium.
I’d have guessed it’s a $70K to 90K car, so why did it sell so low?
I was talking to a friend of mine yesterday who is a high end collector, and he said the car was part of a no reserve collection and he suspects Mecum bought it. Is something really flawed with it that I don’t see? Has the market crashed? Or did the house short hammer it, and like my friend thinks, we will see it again in the near future in the offerings at another Mecum auction?
