These cranks have larger rod journals, and maybe even the crank shaft journals. I want to know what the specification are on these journals, so I can mike them, then get the right bearings. I did a quick google and I'm finding nothing.

Thanks

I have a 78 Motorhome motor in my car and everything was the same size as all 440's I have ever used. Just the pistons were about .190 down in the hole.

Auggie I think you are mistaken. I had 1 '78 440 motor home motor & the crank size both rod & main were the standard size.

OK good to know. I guess you can't always rely on what someone else tells you. The information on the back of the bearing, would tell me what size I'm looking for ? The 67' Motors book I have, has engine specifications, maybe the 67' would be the same as 78' ?

To be sure what you have, you need to use the micrometer.
