Custom alloy dash.

Has anyone made a alloy dash with the gauges 'Set Back' into it?
Im about to rid my car of the standard dash so i thought i would give it a crack. Ive only seen one pic of it but i cant seem to find it to reference it.

I am in the process of trying to modify my dash on my 69 Coronet to accept bigger gauges and a more modern look. I have not seen any custom offerings like this in all my looking. This would be something I would be interested in also, hence my looking for it too. I lack finding the left lower corner piece for having the Bee or RT dash, I have been purchasing them off postings. Trying to modify mine to get the Bee or RT dash look and extra room for larger gauges. The repops I see being made are just a shell with no frame or padding and I can't stomach the cost to go that route yet. Probably start with cardboard templates for the overall piece. Transfering mounting points and figuring out gauge inserts and contours shouldnt be to hard.
A lot of trial and error...its a lot easier to design a mock up of less expensive material to correct prior to transfering to the actual piece.
I would guess most of that was done with a tig to minimize warping. Very cool piece.
I built a custom console for my wifes mustang...if you mess up you just start over..

I have made several cardboard test pieces so far, just don't have much room at all with the coronet style dash. I am still looking for the lower left dash pad from a Bee or R/T, that would buy me a lot of room! Building the frame to work on the dash was a great idea from a fellow FBBO member.
