Custom Gold Superbird?

I have a friend with a Lemon twist Superbird. It was purchased at the Oakland, CA dealership. It a 440-6, 4-speed, 4.10 dana, It has a bench seat and no other options. I was looking at it today and paint is chipping in a bunch of places. It seems to have had several repaints. We noticed under a lot of yellow there was some gold metal flake paint. On the wing it looks like it might of been silver? It looks like the custom paint job was done very well and early in its life. They did the jambs, the inside of the trunk and engine compartment. It is a FY1 car. Does anyone remember this car?

No idea. But the Superbird I owned was gold when I bought it. Wasn't originally gold tho.

Im the friend who owns it. we bought it in tracy after finding it in a garage. so i have no idea if it has or not. The guy we bought it from was the original owner and he and the dealer both bought a superbird together at the same time.

So why don't you just ask the original owner for the story...??? Am i missing something here...???

Ill get some pictures up soon. Amce sorry for the confusion. im pretty confused myself. he told us the car was never painted, the yellow is original, but after going through it you soon learn it has. yellow over spray is all over plastic parts and inside areas were it shouldnt be. the code matches it is a yellow bird, the front nose coen you can see bondo through the paint as if it had been hit and re done. so im just looking to see if anyone knows anything different about this car. if there is another story we wernt told.
