Lots of cars out there to do it for fun,,, but a 68 charger isn't one of them
Landy I think cut rain gutters off one of his car and said he may have gained maybe a tenth. The duct tape was to cover the rain gutters to see if they went any faster. Save them from cutting the gutters. I was joking a bit.Are you implying the weight of the duct tape might slow the car down?
And for the record, I agree, chrome drip trim is effectively a car's eye liner.
I removed the lower belt trim on my 66 Belvedere I 2dr sedan but got some rain gutter trim from a 4dr for it. Place it on the car and like it.Though I will say. I’m painting the drips and I may never put the chrome trim back on. I like the look of cars without the trim but I’m not much of a chrome guy either. Thinking the bumpers are getting painted too.
Why, weight savings? If I were going to remove drip rails I'd seriously consider getting rid of the front wing windows and related parts. And while at it, get some custom front and rear glass made to flush-fit in the actual opennings and get rid of all that trim as well.
You ain’t picking up a thousandth with these off lol.Trying for that extra tenth? Make a pass, next pass use duct tape to cover them.

This local guy to me shaved the rain gutter and windshield trim off his 69 Bee because he thought it was something he wanted to do
I helped him put the 440 back in his car
Now he is trying to sell it and not having much luck
think his custom touch is hurting the sale
So if you are going to keep the car for ever go for it but in the end all these cars get sold some day
GM decided to give it a try on the 70 Camaro/Firebird.

I remember on my old Trans Am getting a dousing every time I opened the door after washing the car or a rain shower.
See this don’t look bad at all…
The rake just doesn't seem to click on that body style/wheel combo, not sure, but it's a nice car I am sure.1969 Dodge Superbee - Full Detailed Video | Classic Cars | Kawartha Lakes | Free local classifieds - Kijiji
