Hey guys Ive got a quick question about cutting weight in a 73 charger with a small block. As of now the only real weight reduction I have on it is an aluminum intake. I dont really want to change the heads out either for cost reasons. I am planning on taking the original hood off and putting a fiberglass one in place of it, but is there anything else that anyone can think of to cut out some weight while still keeping it original looking? Thanks

More fiberglass parts. Tubular suspension parts are lighter but stronger then factory pieces. Unless you want to swap out the factory glass with lexan, but its illegal to drive with the front windshield lexan.

hah Im already thin to start with. I was thinking about maybe fiberglass front quarters but we'll see. Are they generally as strong as the factory pieces?

Fiberglass no, they are still pretty sturdy, if you want as strong as factory you need carbon fiber but that's reallly expensive.

lose the Stl shaft for an AL shaft, the loss of weight there will be equivalent to losing more than 300 lbs carrying weight, then do the same with the wheels if you haven't already, when buying tires also pay attention to weight dunlops are heavier than most usually always
