I have seen it online in other forums but who here has stripped the threads on their shooters? I just did tonight screwing with this Thompson performance plate. one slight over tighten and boom stripped! a place called BLP has a $50 repair kit but going to buy a new replacement main body anyway screw it just what a pisser trying to get a cruise in and then this crap what a pain in the *** why would they make them like that? wtf? Anyone else have to deal with this?

it's like 3 threads on it some say a 5 mm heli works I think? who knows the BLD kit looks like it might work bu you have to drill it down pretty far. Have a new main body coming screw it. $170 mistake I'm paying for for 3 stinking aluminum threads!

Like to know more info on BLD or is it BLP? Tried google nada, anymore info? Thanks

I watched the video looks simple enough. Although I never use a drill chuck for reamers, I always use collets, less runout.

Used the kit.Set it up in the mill.Seemed to work ok.

Years ago before all these fancy kits I stripped the squirter screw on a holley 650 dp. The threads in the main body actually go down about 1/4" deeper than you actually need. I hollowed out the hole on the top of the squirter itself (at a bevel, just like stock, but deeper) and screwed in a stock screw. I did have to put a "check ball" under the screw instead of the original "pintle" pointy piece. It worked fine for many years, but I never changed that primary squirter again since I was afraid of ruining the main body permanently.

Who doesn’t know there own strength?

It was a stupid mistake forgot to take off the gasket on the shooter before re installing it on the plate and two turns and it was done stupid $170 stupid

On a side note, when you get it back together let us know how that Thompson thingy works out! Looks good on their website...
