Hi guys,

Just rescued a 74 Charger from the crusher 3 weeks ago. It hadn't run in 12 years. The guy I bought it from had punched a hole in the gas tank to go scrap it. Calling it a rust bucket would be an insult to rust buckets everywhere. The roof (had) two holes the size of my fist. Gotta love those vinyl tops.
It had (without exaggeration) 4" of acorn shells and rats nests from the trunk to the dash. The wiring has been chewed through front to back along with every vacuum line on the car.
Now the amazing part, fixed the mandatory wiring to get spark, poured a little gas in the car and vroom its alive. It should be noted that the float was stuck in a 1/4 inch of what could best be described as tree sap in the bowl. Still started. I fell in love with it at that moment. Anyway, long story short, I need a vacuum diagram. NOTHING is attached to the carb or anywhere to give me a hint of where it all goes. Anybody have one? Also, "octopus" of vacuum lines was chewed of at the AC/Heater switch, anyone know what that is called or where I could find one?

Thanks

Sounds like you're gonna be scrapping for some parts.
Best thing I can recommend is getting the Factory Service Manual. It will be invaluable for your reference. It will have full wiring diagrams in it also. (Sounded like you're gonna need it).

Probably sound advice Rev. Any ideas on where to find one? My wife thought I was crazy buying the car. But I opened up the glove compartment and strangely, although the was a rats nest right next to it, there was a stack of reciepts, the original dealer invoice, insurance cards etc, all of it backing up the 42000 miles showing on the odometer. Wierd car too. Not an SE, bucket seats, slapstick, that odd full vinyl top without the opera windows. Anyway, the guy bought it for his wife valentines day 1975. Don't know if it was special ordered or just a mish mash of left over parts. She only put 2500 miles on it in the first 10 years.

sounds like you've got your work cut out for you.just be carefull,if you found tree sap in the float bowl, make sure it didn't go down the cylinders.

I've seen that residue(tree sap) in fuel bowls before, you usually find it in old carbys that were last used back when we had real fuel with substance........unlike todays shite.
So Drifter, do you have any pics of the Death Row Charger?
