Difference in left and right hand door mirror reinforcements?

The right hand mirror I can get, the bracket for inside the door is in back order. These look Mostly the same and would seem to maybe just be flipped? Are they different for the contour or the door top? Thinking maybe a left hand could be used at least for awhile until a right hand could be tracked down. I can’t find any rh pieces anywhere. Any thought from anybody?

Two venders have now told me that this reinforcement piece isn’t even a real thing. That no such part came oem.

real head scratcher since they are offered.
 
My 73 uses similar plates but none of my 66 or 67 cars has ever had one.
