Dimmer switch

Got brand new carpet, and don't have my old one to refer to regarding positioning. Do I just cut a hold in my new carpet and push the dimmer switch through? Is there a piece that goes around the switch to prevent it hanging up on the carpet or anything?

no piece goes around dimmer switch...yer just gonna have to slit the carpet and push switch through...that's how the factory did it.

Older carpet sets used to come with a rubber grommet for the switch. I guess they are trying to get it cheaper, and sell it for more.

OE carpets in our cars never had the plastic grommet....everyone who put it in the car when they installed the carpet set got dinged points when showing the cars

Hey, I am no expert just saying I have a 68 charger from the original owner and it has a plastic grommet.

That just means the carpet was replaced t some point, or someone added the grommet.
