looking for answer for removing the bulk connector at the firewall for the engine harness, looking at it, not sure how it comes out?

If you are talking about disconnecting the harness on the engine bay side: There should be tabs on either sides that hold it securely to the firewall. Prying out on the tabs just a bit with a small screwdriver as you wiggle the connector usually gets it loose.

If you already have that removed and are trying to get the 'outlet' out of the firewall from the inside...there should be 4 spring clips that you just need to overcome to get the outlet to go inside the car. Again, a screwdriver from the engine bay side will let you push on the spring clips.

This is how it was all held together on my `66. I doubt there is any difference.

Hope this helps.

For 72’, there shouldn’t be any tools required to unplug the engine harness. Releases by pinching together the tabs on both sides of the plug and rocking a bit while pulling away from bulkhead connector. The bulkhead connector is secured to the firewall with two stamped nuts on the engine side of the firewall.

Ah-hah! Between `66 and `72 they added handles!...and did away with the clips to add studs and nuts. But hey, other than that, it all looks the same...well, except that the plastic is Black instead of White. :toothy5:
