Dodge 1969 SUPER BEE original motor, complete - $1900

I thought I saw that add over a year ago. I never did inquire about it and would of been great for what I'm doing. At the time I thought it was on EBay.
Buyer beware...

And you are being VERY generous on some of your pricing too! Good for you, but his price still isn't justified.

383 blocks are a dime a dozen.....$150
Hi-Po exhaust manifolds are worth some money.....so, OK with your $275.
AVS carb is not worth much and will have to be totally rebuilt....$50, only if you need one.
Cast iron factory intake is not worth much of anything.....$40, only if you need one.
906 iron heads are also boat anchors anymore.....aluminum is the way to go..maybe $100, $150 at the most.
Ramcharger air cleaner assembly IS worth some money, although the 383 version is much easier to find than the 440 version.....so, OK with your $275.
Forged factory crank is only good for a 383, most are building strokers now adays.....$50.
Factory rods.....next to nothing, by the time you resize them, you might as well have purchased a superior product on the aftermarket and have a better build....I'll go $50 max.

Total = I'd offer $500 and go as high as $700, but then I've already got a couple of them too.

Wasn't sure where to post this link so will put it here

It's pretty simple really - post in the appropriate section - Cars/parts/engines etc IF IT IS YOURS
otherwise;
Post in General Discussion, so everyone can comment on it if they so desire.

EDIT: since this is listed in Illinois, and OP is in WV, this thread has been moved to General Discussion.

Good point guys!
I was just thinking if someone needed a number's matching...or, should I say date correct
Also, I was thinking that N96 set-up is pricey

So, perhaps $1,400 on the High end?
Thanks for pointing that out to me guys...

You forgot the OE oil pan & pick up, oil pump, timing cover, balancer,
water-pump, distributor, rockers push-rods/shafts, starter,
bell-housing & flywheel, pulleys & acc. brackets, tons of hardware or
many other reusable parts, with nominal value too...LOL
Especially if you have nothing to begin with...

IMO depends on condition, some parts are overpriced,
some parts have good value
even for a lowly 383, N96 & all, just try & find them {overpriced OE stuff}
there're some that don't think it's all too bad {not really me}
especially for someone that needs it,
some may not think it's all the bad of a deal for an OE combo,
that needs to be rebuilt & refurbished @ a min, all in one place...

the hassles for searching for **** is worth something too...LOL

no value to me per-say; but
I've seen far worse used up worn out stuff listed for sale here
or people value far worse for more here too...

Just need to keep stuff in perspective...
asking price isn't sale price, everything is negotiable,
anyone buying or looking will lowball the guy 1st...

It's worth what someone is willing to pay...

My 2 and a 1/2 cents. I would pay $1500.00 for this package. If you parted it out you could get your money back.

But i see the value in looking for the date correct parts for your 69 b body. Carb still has the 4 speed dash pot and carb tag, 626 bell housing, 69 123 tooth flywheel. I think 123..

Anyways i see value in original parts all in one package. Yep 383 are a dime a dozen but $150.00 for a 69 383 hp??
The air cleaner set goes for 3 hundred on average.
Original carb with tag and 4 speed dash pot, no problem $100 to $200.

Well back to another beer..

Agree with you IF a guy is doing a 100% OEM factory restoration. Then you need exact parts. BUT, how many guys are actually doing this anymore, especially with a generic 383 car? If it was a Hemi car, yes. A V-code car, maybe. 383 car, no way you can financially justify the cost to "restore", not resto-mod.

BTW, what kind of beer you drinkin?

Bottom line is:
I was in error....

Thanks guys for "pointing" it out too me....

Hey Ski, that's what we're here for, to save you from spending too much of your hard earned money. I think you just had "N96" stars in your eyes. You are correct, some of the N96 stuff is expensive and hard to find and not reproduced. So sometimes that stuff is worth some serious cash. In this case, the air cleaner assembly is worth a couple hundred bucks and the rest is pretty much common generic 383 stuff. Who knows, the guy might get his full price for the engine. Then I'll be the one "in error". No harm, no foul. :thumbsup:
