Looking at various pics of the late 60's/early 70's Mopars, it occurred to me how many designs were based off of a single horizontal body line...and yet, Dodge/Plymouth achieved such beautiful car body designs originating from that very simple line. The Challengers and 3rd-gen Chargers diverged from this, as did the Roadrunners, but I personally find this common body line and some of these designs so iconic and beautiful. Share your thoughts.

The engineers back in the day were allowed to be creative and had good taste. They had lines and curves like a good looking lady. They wanted to sell their product, competition was strong so they had to get it right and keep costs reasonable. They were VERY smart and creative and knew their customer. If they didn’t they paid the price which did happen in the early 60s. Chrysler hired some of the best and was known for being the leader in engineering and design. Nobody is perfect but they did well IMO.

66/67 Coronets and Chargers have that same line.
