Hello All, working on this huge list of issues to address and the next one on the list is the passenger door window. I was sitting in the driveway idling and the window just fell to the bottom of the door. I pulled the door panel off and stuffed a towel in there and ignored it for awhile. I had a chance to look at it today and it seems when I roll the window down, the center roller loses contact with the bottom of the window and the arm just falls off to the side leaving the window sitting in the frame with no support and eventually gravity takes place. I attached a pic, hopefully it is clear enough to see whats going on. Am I missing some kind of extra support bracket or is the regulator not functioning properly?

Thanks,
Don

There should be a stop that prevents it from going so far as to fall off the track. I'm going from memory but the stop is a white nylon deal that is actually attached to the window. This could be the up stop and not the down stop or both. Someone will correct me but there is a stop that prevents your situation.

Up stop is a plastic plug in the back hole near the bottom of the window. Down stop is adjusted on the regulator right near the crank.

Your photo is too small to see anything helpful in determining the problem.

It's possible you need a new crank. Maybe your crank is for another car.

First make sure your small guide/track section is still attached to the bottom center of the door glass. This is the guide your regulator roller runs in and is attached to the glass with a plastic rivet. 68 B does not have a hole in the botom back edge of the glass for a stop to attach only 69 and 70 do. 68 uses an L shaped up stop bracket which mounts with 2 bolts near the upper center of the door structure and contacts the arm of the regulator to stop it on the up travel. The down stop on the 68 69 & 70(late 69 & 70 also used an assist stop wedge in the rear track and glass mld) is located on the regulator itself and can be adjusted with your door panel off. Behind the reg handle on the structure is a round hole with a sloted stud that has a nut on it. Loosen the nut and turn the slot to adjust the stop so your regulator does not travel down too far. If there is no nut with stud there it has come off or it could be the counter part on the large gear of the reg for the stop which is a large thick blind rivet has come off. I hope this info helps you get fixed up

thanks for the replies. I have reattached the image using BBcode so hopefully it gives a better idea of what I am looking at. Does anyone have a pic of the window hardware that is involved? This is looking from the bottom of the door upwards with the window rolled all the way up.

here is another pic showing a different angle. The only thing holding the window up is that arm and roller.

Also, there is a hole at the bottom of the window. Does someone have a link to some of the replacement parts that are needed?>

Similar thing just happened with my 66 Coronet, the plastic collet and peg holding the door glass to the lifter channel broke up, here's the part you'll need I think...

I can not tell from that pic but it looks like your short section of track is missing from the bottom of the glass, your roller should be in that track and if you have a hole in the center of your glass on the bottom that means your rivet is missing and the track probably felll off. Put the glass down to the large opening in the door structure and take a pic straight in on that so we can see what is on the bottom of the glass. Check the bottom of your door if the track fell off it should be still in there because it is too large to fall out a drain hole. It attaches with a plastic rivet as i mentioned in my previous post. If you need the track or rivet i have both here. PM sent

The holes in the channel and bottom of window glass line up and the plastic keep slides in. A paper gasket goes between the metal and glass. Kits can be had but are expensive. You could by the guide and keeper and make a gasket. You will need 1/8" or so rubber strips between the bottom of the glass and the metal where it sits in the channel.
