I'm finally getting around to putting a dual master cylinder on the old Belvedere and I think I have all of the stuff I need. I'm staying with drum brakes all around for the time being so I'm using a "67 manual drum brake MC. My question is since both ends of the drum MC look the same size, does it matter which way the lines are connected? I know on a disc/drum car that the rear MC line (the large reservoir) goes to the front discs and the front (small reservoir) line goes to the rear drums. Is this how the factory ran the lines on the manual drum brake dual MCs also? Thanks, Smitty

Yes, that is the way to arrange them: front line to rear reservior and vice versa.

The only difference I can think of is that the rear piston in the MC can move more, and the front wheel cylinders are typically a bit larger in diameter than the rears, and need more fluid movement, so that arrangement matches up the fluid movement capacities better. (I suspect that makes it so you can get the needed fluid to the working wheel cylinders when one half of the systme fails.....)
