Hey guys,

Just wondering if an Edelbrock Torker II would be too agressive of an intake on a mild 440. I know an Performer RPM would probably be the 'correct' choice but I'd love to get rid of the massive chunk of cast iron and I have the Torker sitting around collecting dust.

Thanks,
Mike

It isn't going to hurt anything other than maybe giving up a little bit of torque down low. You'll know the first time you leave a stop light.

It will work just fine. With some good carb tuning I doubt you would notice any loss in torque.

Mike,
I had a '71 Dodge Charger, WP23U1A******, with a 440, A727B TF, 3.55 gear, 489 case rear, ran a Holley 4150 series R3310-1 vacuum secondary carb on a Edelbrock Torker II manifold with, innitially, std 440 HP cam and compression. Excellent combination, great throttle response, smooth transition to secondary, decent 10-12 MPG, used manual choke with cable (kit by Holley)......recommended....just my opinion of course.

Bob, I completely agree. The Torker will work great with a carb equal to a 3310-1, especially with headers.

I just put a Torker II on my 915 headed, .484 purple shaft, stock exhaust manifold 440. Runs strong! Runs as good or better vs the 6 pack that was on it.
