Found out today that superintendent of Akron(Oh.) public schools is retiring next June 2021. Important (?), don't know but the city is thoroughly Democrat, the Board of Education said he did a great job. Ohio state rank was 2-F's and 2-D's in 2019. Don't you just love it? I will not say his ethnicity, but you can guess!!

schools closed, cut their pay, especially administration

I'll bet they'd lobby to reopen schools, almost immediately

No work no pay. Private and charter schools back them as they try to keep education going. As the public schools now using the virus as a excuse to keep the doors closed.

Teachers still work if kids take their classes on line. It just makes it challenging for students and teachers. I think they should have a say in it. The first post mentioned politics and race if it would have mentioned a different party and race it would be gone by now.

Do you have any kids in school? If not why are you worried about it? If you do then go to the board of education meetings and give them your thoughts on a new superintendent.

I think it's just a overview of why kids out of school. We have a country wearing masks and starting to move into a positive motion. But yet can't seem to get kids back in school. Between home school and internet school with a family it's hard when it takes two incomes. We pay taxes for these schools and if there not going to open then have them send back my tax dollars or have a teacher show up at my house and teach my kids. This way I might be able to keep my house. Sorry for the rant be having teachers refuse to teach they should not be paid. I Know I don't get paid if I don't work

I told my teachers union they can pound sand! There’s a bunch of us going back regardless what the union’s stance is. I will say this teachers union, so far, is not opting to be out of school. They want to go back. That is good, they damn well better!
There are a few teachers that are petrified of the rona and opted to retire, quit or stay home. I’m not saying they are wrong, gotta do what ya gotta do. But like I said there’s a bunch of us going back!
