Effing weather

Right now is minus forty three. I don’t usually report the windchill because generally that’s just a way for tourists and southerners to make it sound worse then it is. But this morning it minus sixty seven. That’s a remarkable number even for us.

Yikes ,that’s scary - And to think I used to snowmobile in this stuff every winter every week

Now , no thanx

WI - We get a week of this piece of action for the first time this winter
I can’t remember a warmer winter honestly so far

Anyways -13 below this morning actual temp

My Siberian Huskies are out sun tanning and having a party like it’s 80

And we think its cold here, 3C/38F!! Ya'll want some "GLOBAL WARMING" up there? THATS FRIGGIN COLD FELLAS!!!

I take you're going to putting another log on the fire, all day long?

Some of the temperatures mentioned on here are pretty scary to a moderate climate dweller like me....heating bills must be scary. You must be able to buy some very good winter clothing there too!!

For cold months like this we are well over $1,000.00 per month in heating, and because we have to plug in our vehicles our power bills are well over $400.00 per month.

Even though you can buy some good parkas, they are very expensive. And generally nylon on the outside. One “pop” from the campfire and the sparks immediately ruin your thousand dollar designer parka. So I actually wear army surplus. I bought a bunch of Canadian army parkas for $60 each. They are fantastic. I got a Polish army parka which is a bit lighter for the same price. The best, by far, is a old Swedish army parka. Knee length, tent canvas on the outside, actually a full sheepskin fleece inside. Very heavy, absolutely windproof. For headgear we get these sheepskin hats made by a company called Egli’s Sheep Farm. Best you can get. Ugly, but frostbite is uglier. The photo shows the hat and Swedish parka. Minus forty two without wind. That’s ice on my face. Froze my kneecap later that day when the parka crept up while snowmobiling the meat back to the truck. That night the temp dropped to minus fifty two and it took eight hours to start the truck.

That would be my natural gas bill for about a year and a half, and that includes the hot water, stove and barbecue as well as the furnace!

Minus 29 , with a windchill minus 36 with 61 precent humidity . At least its not for long. Were into it for a week , maybe another 2 or 3 weeks to go.
Last year it was from october to march. With very little for breaks in between. I think were getting off lucky this year.

I dont mind variety in the weather. I see alot of US states getting colder. Stay warm folks.

Thaaaaaat's NUTHIN!
I remember once I was out and it was REALLY cold. There I was.....
