Hi all, I am thinking of using a electric water pump on my 440(street car), just for a different look. I was thinking of running the alternator fan belt straight to the crank pulley like the power steering set up. Now I am thinking the alternator will over rev due to a shorter route.

Any feedback/advice would be great, I haven't bought the electric water pump yet.

Happy new year to everyone.

Leigh

Leigh, you won't have any problems on the alternator end of things. The ratio between the crank pulley and alternator will be unchanged and you'll be spinning it at the same speed as before. Happy new year!

Thanks, now I have thought about it a bit more the speed would only change if the pulley size was changed. I was a bit confused because the power steering pump pulley is much bigger than the alternator pulley. But that is why we ask others for advice.

Thanks again
