I know this doesn't fit in this forum very well but I don't know much of what I'm doing when it come to internal engine measurement so I'm asking for some help. I have just acquired a 302 motor from a 94 Ford for a project build and I have some questions. The stock crank has a 3" stroke and I am looking to put a forged crank in to handle some extra power. But the only crank I can find seem to be for stroker motors. Most of these cranks having a 3.25" stroke or a 3.47" stroke but I'm wanting to keep a stock bore. If I was to get one of these cranks could I keep stock bore and just get shorter connecting rods or shorter compression height pistons or am I trying to do the impossible. Any help on further understanding all this new info would be greatly appreciated.
 
You may be confusing things. Bore is the diameter of the hole. Stroke is the travel distance inside that hole. Sure, you can keep stock bore. Why give up the benefit of stroke, unless upper RPM is a factor. Also, you may not be able to keep stock bore anyway, depending on the condition of the cylinders, if the engine's worn. But, going back to the initial concern, what kind of power are you considering that you need a forged crank ? A stock cast crank can handle a considerable amount for a street engine.
 
I'm sure there is a custom piston/rod combo[standard bore] for the stock stroke crank. Go on a Ford forum.
