Picked up my motor this past weekend from HP engines up in NC this past weekend. They built me a 400/470 stroker motor with trick flow heads, Eddy dual rpm intake, and a solid 250/250 cam.
Now I just have to remove the 383 and put the motor in. Now I'm wondering if my drive line will hold up to this motor. It's going in a manual 4 speed with an 8 3/4 rear end.
Anyone have any suggestions on clutches, fly wheels, drive shafts...etc...?

yup get it on a dyno !! Great looking motor ! then do the trans

I think you are overthinking things. You know what shape the drivetrain is in. If everythings decent, drop it in and enjoy.

Dana 60. There's a reason they were installed in all 440s and Hemis with 4 speeds. Sell your 8.75 before you tear it up and get a Dana.

First time I romped on mine with the warmed up 440 - about 500 @ crank, the windshield cracked. Put subframe connectors in to reduce flex. I recommend U S Cartool welded in.

Don't have a picture, but it was a direct result of the post-rebuild romp. Cracked low, left to right horizontal.

Is Atlanta traffic really worse than San Jose as reported? Difficult to comprehend that.

It's bad but not as bad as Cali traffic lol. Good tip with the subframe connectors

Nice ! Let us know How much power it makes I have a 400 block and trickflow heads / intake think I will go 512 CI with mine when I get the money together for the rest of my build just got a Dana installed my car is 4 speed also you will enjoy the car more now !

Traction will cause problems....otherwise, I'd say just keep buying tires.

Center force dual friction clutch and run it. My 12.50 Challenger is still running the stock 100K 3.55 and A 833 423 spline 4 speed. No broken parts. Over 100 strip lasses on slicks, 10k HARD street miles.
