What issues will I run into? Trans mount, engine mounts?
Thank you very much, this info helps a lotcheck to see where the oil pan dumps on the crossmember.
if i recall, trucks are back dumps/the oil pans biggest part/dump
cars can be all kinds/front /both front and back with notches/without notches/which will lead you to pulling your hair out.
also, those truck motor mount brackets arent going to work/too tall.
if you have the truck exhausts, those might? be a problem as well, depending on the car.
on the flip side.
a good junkyard visit and you are all set for a cheap price, hopefully.
look for a smashed up junker 4 door and strip it,one shot.
grab the oil pan,the oil pan Pickup tube, the motor mounts and Brackets off the car,
pray the radiators in it and its good grab that and the shroud as well.
or,you can buy everything new.
tis your choice there.
on the trans, its a truck so its a longtail so it will work in your car.
btw,i see you are in idaho.
dunno if they do demo derbies around there, but,
most of the derbies guys here buy mopars take the motors trans out and stick chevys in them.
you could be able to score everything you need dirt cheap if you check that route.
Thanks for the info it helpsYup....the engine will have a rear sump pan and the mount brackets will be totally different. Get the right pan and brackets for the car, and it'll sit in there. Truck exhaust mans are also different like BeatersRus said but....you might can make them work depending on how resourceful you are. Welding etc will be required. One time I used an A body header from a car and it fit my 79 pickup with just a bit of frame grinding for clearance. Not sure how many like to do that but in my case, it only took less than 1/8" of grinding for clearance. Back yard engineering at it's best....
