I've been working in the engine (360) wiring harness on my 74 Road Runner. I've sorted everything out except for the section that runs along the passenger valve cover. I'd like to see pics of that area if anyone has them. That part of the harness powers the electric choke for the thermoquad as well as the anti-diesel solenoid and the A/C clutch and high pressure cutoff switch on the drier. If anyone has them I'd like to see pics of the harness that runs along the inside of the passenger side valve cover with connections to the temp sender, alternator, and A/C clutch. Also pics of the A/C harness that runs up over the front firewall and along the passenger fenderwell before crossing over to the engine at the alternator.

Not sure if 73 is the same as 74, but my ac harness does not run along the passenger fenderwell, actually, there is no wiring on the passenger side fender.

My ac harness for the cutoff comes out of the bulk head connector, and a set of blue wires runs along the drivers side up to the radiator support and over to the receiver/drier. That same blue wire is also in another part of the harness that goes from the bulk head connector across the fire wall to the back of the engine and then down to the compressor.

All the wires for the ac compressor, solenoid, choke, temp sensor, and alternator come across on the back of the fire wall and run under the wire hooks on the top of the valve cover. i tried to get a couple of pictures here. A note, the blue wire for the ac compressor should run into a connector on the solenoid that then allows it to connect into the pig tail on the compressor. Also, purple wire is for the temp sensor, and the field wires and main for the alt run up next to those and around to the front of the motor.

Here is one showing the route of the cutoff, actually its low pressure cutoff switch that is on the drier.

Hope this helps.

Wow! Great pics, very detailed, nice looking engine compartment. I can see exactly what I need to know - thanks idrivemopar!
Is that an new wiring harness you have there? The wires for the low pressure cut off switch on mine actually run up over the radiator support and follow the A/C hardlines until the black strap on the passenger inner fender where they cross over to the alternator area and run down the length of the pass valve cover. Having them run under the front of the radiator support sure looks cleaner.

Glad I could help. These are the new M&H Electric harnesses. Looks like the harness for 74 is different than 73, part numbers are different, so I don't know if that means the way its running on your car is correct or not. Maybe one of the 74 RR guys can verify that.
