It's been a WILD weekend across the Central Plains, Mid-West, and North Eastern States, along with Southern Canada. We've had sustained winds of 50mph since Sunday around 4pm, with gust over 70mph. 50K Homes & Businesses without power at this time.
Here's what happens when the wind are from the right (or wrong) direction coming up Lake Erie. This video was shot from the Canadian Shoreline in Ft Erie, Ontario, directly across from the City of Buffalo, NY. That is the Peace Bridge in the background. Excuse the cameraman's language, but I think he was a little pumped to get this on film. I thought this might be interesting to share with You All...

Saw hunks of ice crush houses along Lake Erie shoreline growing up next to the NY border.

95 to 120K (72MPH) last night. I have my 50 x 100 x 16' high hangar x strapped and chained to keep it upright. I've had lesser blows put it 4" off plumb, so wasn't taking any chances. Most roads are closed, multi car pile ups on the 400. Don't even want to walk from the house door to the shop.. so renos it is.. if the power stays on. Many are out and have been since Midnight.

Made it through ok, too dark to see any damage this morning on way to work. Super glad I had the trees overhanging the house and barn cut down last Monday !

All that ice headed for the falls .. should be interesting.. I'm on Grand Island we're surrounded now with ice .. docks coming down for sure. Have to take a run around the island and to the falls to see this. Crazy cold with this wind.

just got home from my buddies place,
he lives on the edge of a big field and the wind took his barn doors Off the barn,
that was Fun to rehang those,
along with opening his shipping container doors wide open and then froze them to the ground.
we couldnt budge them and that wind is Bitterly cold.
finally had to give up and retreat to the heat.

going down there i got hit by a Violent gust that shifted the truck over a lane,
and there were whiteouts everywheres.
Stay Safe out there today......

Calm and sunny here today. last night and all day before there were huge gusts of wind. The bare trees swinging as much as 8-10ft back and forth. Just imagine if they had leaves on 'em? Listening closely for the new metal standing seam roof to come off. No issues though.
