I quit being a fan of bread and circuses years ago, and quit watching sports, but I’ll make an exception for this. Kid was called up from the minors and in his first game in the majors hit in the game winning run. The first video is of when his minor league coach told him, during a game, that he was going to the major league the next day. The second video is the game winning hit the next day.

Goes to show that if you try hard enough, and luck puts you in a good position, great things can happen.

This reminds me of the story when the Carolina Hurricanes were playing the Toronto Maple Laffs and both their goalies got injured, and Toronto's Zamboni driver--who was a 42-year-old amateur goalie--got in the game as Carolina's backup goalie. He let in 2 goals on the first 2 shots, but stopped the next 8, securing the win for Carolina.
