Fender mounted turn signal placement 1971 vs. 1972

i think the ebay car is correct
to confuse you even more,
i've seen them in 3 places! lol
i have them mounted in between the scoops on a standard rr hood
which is pretty rare
i think the fender tag code for the hood ones is L 31
and i have seen them in the middle and the front all on a 71
so its not a 71 vs 72 thing.
i first thought in the middle of the fender was for a grabber hood
but
then i have seen them in the middle of the fender on a regular 71 383 satty.
so
i don't think there is a rhyme or reason myself..

Well, the Satellite does use a grabber hood, just doesn't have the grabber, so the middle placement may very well be air grabber/satellite.

I have a set of extra satellite fenders that have the turn signals in them. If you want, I can measure them tonight when I get home. The drivers side has never been repainted so it would not have been moved.

I did the best I could. I could not find my flexible measuring tape. This is from a 72 sport satellite.
Hopefully this will help someone. I tried to get as close as I possibly could. I centered the best I could but this should give a good estimate if nothing else.

On that car from ebay, I'm sure that car has been sold more than once.

Anyway, the turn signals are not in the right place, too far forward. They should be back on the fender. Those fenders are not perfectly straight on the top of them so picture trying to see them from the driver's seat. The measurements pictured are correct.

FYI- My car, they're mounted in the hood, between the call outs

The red RR has the wrong lights in the wrong place. 71-2 have the same lights in the same spot.
Plymouthman72 has the right spot.

That's what I thought
