1969 Plymouth fender mounted turn signals. I have the housing off and apart from the bulb assembly. The lense is slotted for a screwdriver. How do you get the bulb out!? I can hold the metal socket and the lense just spins.

Do you have to push down on the lens & then turn to release it?

Do they look like this?

I believe my '70 hood turn signals are like these. Hold socket firmly (aka vise grips), push bub in, turn 1/4 turn counter-clockwise & the bulbs come out. Mine were SUPER-DUPER corroded in there.... I "think" I soaked them in PB Blaster for a couple days before I could get them out, but that was many years ago.

I figured it out. Of course tthe one I was working on is stripped. The socket is threaded female and the lens is male threaded. Bulb goes in between. Funny enough the one that is stripped works but the one that came apart does not, new bulbs on order.

Check out ur bulb sockets real close.
My rt side quit and socket was totally non-workable. Ended up using an led from Radio Shack that worked great, course that was the last couple weeks of their existence. A little rubber grommet and super glue and new wiring.

Socket looks good, wire is good, no short to ground. Soaking it in clr to clean the inside. Bulb is bad.

For the seized one that works, I am going to leave it alone. I could drill the lense through the side to pin the socket allowing me to turn it if it eventually goes out.

FYI, Bulb Town stocks these 330 mini lamps for 49 cents each. New one installed and working.
