Hi guys, I bought a 74 Cuda from a guy that claimed he had the fender tag for the car but he can't find it. Yeah why would you take it off? Anyways is there another one located anywhere? I have heard on some of the other cars one is located on passenger side towards the bottom of the fire wall. He claims it is a 340 6-pack pink panther. The car was painted pink once upon a time. According the the VIN the engine code is L which would be a 360 4bbl. It does have the 150 mph speedo. Can you have a Marti report ran like you can on a Mustang? Thanks for the help.

Lets start with there is only one fender tag per car. No were else. Panther pink was a mid year 1970 colour only.
A few slipped out in 71. None after that on any cars. 340 6pac only on 1970 ebodys. Never on any cars after that.

Hope this helps. look for a build sheet.. That has more info then the fender tag.

Well some cars had two tags, but that's because the owner specified so many options that they couldn't all fit on one tag.

If you find a broadcast sheet, there are companies that can reproduce a tag for you using the data extracted from it.

No Marti style reports available for Mopars, unfortunately. Keep hounding the seller....my Demon tag resurfaced eight years after it was removed for a rotisserie resto!!

Thanks for all of the info. I looked for the broadcast sheet but I guess someone else already snagged it. So I guess I can paint it whatever color I want! Did the 150 mph speedos come as an option or where they part of a performance package? I'm trying to learn some of the mopar things, yeah kind of hard for us GM people.

I feel for you on the fender tag. without the tag, the car now becomes a blank canvas to do what you want. There is a certain amount of freedom that comes with it. Now if you over paid based on this guy misrepresenting the car, I personally would get an attorney and go after him.

Don't know how far you went in trying to find the "build sheet", but my car had three. I found the original one under the rear seat cushion. (that just snapped out) When I started taking the car apart for the restoration I found a second one under the rear seat back, which was bolted in (as opposed to the cushion) and a third one under the passenger seat cushion. (first time I had ever removed the passenger seat) The first one I found was for my car, the other two were for different cars. Near as I can figure when mine went down the line for whatever reason the rear seat back and passenger seat were supposed to be in other cars, but ended up in mine.
