So parts for the EFI conversion is starting to come in, and I want to make sure that I have everything (or at least everything I can think of - there's always going to be that last minute order from Summit or Jegs...)

I got a new tank, welded a recess in it for the new electric fuel pump when I started thinking

1) How is the filler neck attached to the old tank? Screwed? Rubber grommet? Welded?

2) Should I get a new one when I'm rebuilding?

and if 2 is true

2a) Which one to get?

What are you working on? Most all the old mopars just use a rubber grommet that the filler tube slips into. No need to replace it unless it's damaged.

Sorry - forgot to say - it's a 69 Roadrunner.

So, neck just goes into the tank with a grommet? I got a good deal on a brand new tank so I can just move the parts between the old tank and the new?

Personally, I would get a new one. It is a cheap part and I have had them split and spill fuel. Grommet fits in the tank, lube the i.d. with vasoline and the filler tube slides in.

Since I live in Sweden I need to order everything 10 weeks before I plan to use them because things always get lost, stuck with the customs or end up being totally the wrong part.

Can anyone point me to which grommet to get? Are our necks 2.5" or 1.5" ?

Check out Filler Supply Company on line, part number GR004-02. 1 7/8" i.d.

I bought a new tank and grommet and installed them in my 66 Satellite, after a month or two I pulled into my driveway and noticed my tank was leaking gas like a waterfall. It turns out the grommet split in half. Not wanting to experience the possibility of a fire. I removed the tank and had a tank built with a neck to replace the use of a grommet and insertion of the filler tube into the tank. I shortened the filler tube and now use a rubber tube to connect the stock metal filler tube to the metal neck on the gas tank...problem solved and no risk of fire from a split grommet.

Filler supply company don't ship to sweden :BangHead:

I'll look into buying a neck with a flange and tac weld it to the tank and run a rubber hose between then - at least those parts aren't B body specific so I can get hold of them in Sweden :)

Right now I'm running AN tubing under the car for the new fuel feed line and return line. Don't trust the 50 year old original tubes ;)

Mine was 9 years old when it split. Kept smelling fuel, replaced and tightened everything at the sender unit. Then I saw a fuel trail from the filler neck. Bought the one I posted abobe and have been fuel leak free ever since.

Hey dreadl0ck, If you need one I can get it and ship it to you. You pay for the part and ride.

So that one or the year one?

Sure, you got Skype? I can paypal you the money - let's talk.

I don't Skype lol. I need to order one for myself and can throw another on my order. I'm guessing fedex or ups ship overseas? Send me an address and I can get a quote for shipping.
