What was used to plug off the holes for the starter relay on the firewall when it was relocated to the left fender area on 66 Hemis - screws, rubber plugs, dum-dum?? Here is a picture of my 67 showing the general area where the relay is mounted on other-than-hemi cars, although I think in 67 it was shifted over to the outside to clear the valve covers.

Don't think there are holes? There might be dimples where non-Hemi relay goes. When I converted my 65 Dodge to 4 speed wondered where to drill extra holes. Looked at firewall there dimples where holes needed to be.

Maybe they are dimples - hard to tell from front on black paint. Better look again.

Great question, never thought about it, there are sever 1966 hemi owners here, let’s see what they say.

I would GUESS there are no holes there. Yes they used dimples in many places. For bucket seat inner holes, for dual exhaust bracket, for power window wiring, etc.

The 67 hemi starter relay is mounted in the same place as any other 67.

The reason the were relocated on 66 is the horn relay was there with the starter relay, so both were moved to the side fender well. In all 67’s the horn relay moved out front by the horns.

Just ckd mine.
The holes are punched thru ( aka not drilled ) and go all the way thru . But no threads ever.

As to whether or not there was every any kind of rubber plug there ,,,,,I have no idea. But doubt it

Haven’t been back to the hot garage but that’s basically what I thought I saw on mine. Fran, the insulation pin is there on my white car, it just got sprayed white when the last owner painted it.

I'll have to check mine, wonder whether different plants punch holes others didn't? Mine is a St Louis build, think I would have noticed if I had holes will check.
@Runcharger are yours punched through? A curious mind (s) want to know.:DWhat plant was your car built at?
@gtx6970 what plant was your car built?
@AR67GTX think you said yours was Lynch Road, correct?

Here's mine - unmolested St. Louis car. Second pic is a zoom in from the first.

Yes, mine are punched through. Think I’ll put a dab of dum dum on the rear side while I have access so that no water gets in there.
