Hope I don't bore you all too much with my kindergarten questions...
After much waffling between a 400 or 440 build and extent of build I've decided on a mild 440 for my first engine build. It will replace the stock 383 I have in my '68 Sport Satellite.
I have a stock, lightly used '78 440 to start with. I bought a used steel crank and 6 pack rods while I was waffling. Since it's my first build and I could totally F it all up I decided not to go with a stroker kit right off the bat. I have tons of recipes and to start I'm planning to bore the block +.030 and use the LY rods and the steel crank. Looking for a mach shop in the NYC area. Saw one bad review of Eddie's in NJ, a good one of Larry's in CT, and just found B&B in Lynbrook, L.I.
Any suggestions?
