Can someone tell me about the date in 1967 that the first 1968 Dodge Charger was assembled? Bob Horman

I remember a junkyard we used to hit often in the 90's in a small rural town. Most cars there were unmodified base models that averaged about 10-15 years on the road. One was a '68 Fury that stood out because the fender tag had a first week in August '67 SPD. Some local law enforcement cars ended up there and had the "body in white" supplemental tags.
