Flood cars?

So a private seller (eBay) doesn’t have to disclose that information? I wouldn’t be too happy to know that tidbit if I paid 100k.

He must know. But will probably act surprised if you brought it to his attention. That’s why I included the VIN. The Charger forum comes up on most searches. And it was salt water. Most cars in the north east have had some salt exposure, but not immersed. It must have been fairly high, because the door jamb switch was rusted.

The owner got a $154k payout...

I doubt this auction will reach that but... who knows? Charger prices have almost doubled in the last 2 years.

I have a buddy that bought a Peterbilt that was a flood victim down in Florida. Unfortunately, the shady used truck dealer never disclosed that little tidbit of info and my buddy Tommy ended up in bankruptcy court over that truck.
After numerous sensor failures and "derate" breakdowns, he landed in a quality Peterbilt dealership who diagnosed the problem. EVERY wiring harness and connection in the truck was corroded beyond repair. The cost to replace everything that was damaged far exceeded the value of the 2015 Peterbilt.
Unless you're willing to do the work properly, a flood vehicle isn't worth it IMO.

I know the director Michael Bay has a reputation for destroying a lot of cars in his movies. They destroyed 532 flood cars in Transformers 3. Budget was 19 million and the movie made 1.125 billion.
