For whom the toll...pays
Not this guy, evidently.

He wanted to pass through toll plazas without paying the $1.25.
He mounted a remote control license holder that drops a screen over the plate when you push a button while sitting in the car.
If they don't know you they can't find you he believed.
The problem is the idiot dropped the screen while in line with a MARKED FLORIDA HWY PATROL CAR AND OFFICER also in line right behind him when he did it.

Got charged with what they call Petit Theft, (petty theft) for not paying the toll but concealing a license plate just happens to be a felony.
They impounded his car and they still have it.

Pay your tolls people, or buy a vowel and get a clue if you think you have a way to beat it.

I like it, but you definitely have to be aware of your surroundings and instead of a black shade, a mural of aphoney licence plate would be less conspicuous.

He was just "testing" his invention for marketing. Pretty low tech though. He didn't even think of concealing the wire. The thing about it, if the car is worth the time and effort (and not owned by bank or someone else), his car will probably be forfeited. Too bad it wasn't the one pictured in the ad.

Yeah, a dummy plate needs to stand in.

Made in USA. That helps. I like the idea of 'blinding' cameras. Wonder if somebody could just wear something similar so one could walk about town & not be tracked by all the bullshit street surveil? **** with drones too?
could not agree more , everywhere you go your being tracked and watched .

Back in 1980, when grocery cards started, my spider sense told me that it was about making data collection on the masses easier.....of course I was laughed off the map as a paranoid wearer of tin. The watchers ferret any piece of info they can because......they can.

I support the Second Amendment.

so right you are , I second that!

Not such a bad idea - but for a $1.25 I'd rather pay the toll. Maybe he had mor nefarious ideas in mind. Either that or he drove the toll roads an awful lot....
