Floyd Garrett passed...I didn’t know.

As you might imagine, we've been there many a time over the years - although I've been remiss in the last
half decade or so, admittedly.
The Garretts were always wonderful hosts and Floyd and I had the usual banter about Chevy vs Mopar, but
that was all in fun of course. Floyd loved to talk, especially if you were there when things were quiet...
and if he wasn't available, his wife stepped in and was just as friendly.

And the cars? Holy Smokes, the cars....Floyd had friends in high places and some of the rarest, original
muscle cars you'd ever want to see wound up in "rotation" for the available spaces (he liked to keep them
rotating every so often, so there was half again more waiting their turn in the wings at any given time).
People like Ted Stephens knew to trust Floyd with their pride and joys and it was considered an honor to
have your car displayed in his museum.

Another icon of the hobby has passed, as far as I'm concerned.
Wonder what is to become of the place?

Wish I could see the entire article - but thank you for the heads up.
We thought the world of those folks and visited many a time...
RIP Floyd.

RIP Floyd. I consider it an honour to have met you and talked to you. It was amazing to see the collection of musclecars. There was not a dog in the bunch.
My quote, " Nobody ever got sick from smoking their tires. ", came from a souvenir T-shirt I bought in Floyd's gift shop.

What was sad was he’s been gone for over a month and I hadn’t seen any chatter anywhere. When I saw the thread talking about the museum closing I dug around and saw a yelp review that said it was closed but no reason given. The only news was the small paper on line. Hagerty should have been all over that one.

Don’t know where the cars will go, as many aren’t his, but I know he owns quit a few.

All around sad. RIP. But he’s probably bench racing right now!

It was on a Chevy site.
